Mass Communication

Is the process by which a complex organization with the aid of one or more machines produces and transmits public messages that are directed at large, heterogeneous, and scattered audiences (Dominick, 2007: 12).

Mass Media

Are the channels used for mass communication (Dominick, 2007: 13).

Media Vehicle

Is a single component of the mass media, such as a newspaper, magazine, radio station, TV network (Dominick, 2007: 13).

Gatekeepers

Any person or group who has control over what material eventually reaches the public (Dominick, 2007: 14).

Convergence

Is the process of coming together or uniting in a common interest or focus (Dominick, 2007: 19).
